If you’re afraid, as I am, about another four years under Obama – tough. He’s in, in like Flynn.
The conservative in me hopes for the best, but I’m a gambler and my money says that once again the Republicans are a bad bet.
They have only themselves to blame. O how they keep blowing chances! Last time they gave us what’s-his-name, a great war hero but a lousy campaigner. Ditto this time around…and I came to this realization while watching that kid on some talk show – Paul Ryan, right?
So underwhelming, this kid. Absolutely generic. I can’t dislike him but can’t like him, either.
Frankly, I cannot imagine that kid ever being president just as I can’t imagine Obama being president, then and now.
(Okay, same for what’s-his-name who is our vice president right now. Imagine HIM a finger away from the red button. Pray, then, for the welfare of our president.)
Who’s running this Romney campaign anyway? The Dems gave him a gift when they proved themselves to be both anti God and anti-Semitic. So where are the national ads pointing this out? Where’s the reminder of this in the speeches? I’d fire that whole campaign crew and I’d quickly replace that kid, Ryan, with someone who’s got some flash, some pizzazz.
Maybe we can find something in Ryan’s background that questions where he was born. Is he old enough for high office – even for high school?
Is this the best we’ve got throughout this entire country?
Passing over Marco Rubio – big mistake. He could have made the difference.
Obama is blessed with those rhetorical skills, but that’s only half the magic. The other half is the competition that is so lame.
True, Obama is also blessed by a news media that raptures for him – a romance that will not die, this thing between the press and Obama. They vouch and lie for him by what they put in and by what they leave out. But if the GOP gave us someone to love we’d have ourselves a horse race.
I like Romney – I think. In Obama I don’t trust. Something weird about the speeches and the multitudes so enthralled and worshipful.
Last time I saw that was in another country where people were goose-stepping.
Worst moment for me was when he bowed to the king of Saudi Arabia. I don’t think Romney would do that and that’s enough for me.
What’s troubling me from both camps? Like… where’s the New Frontier? Under JFK we had miles to go before we sleep. We dreamed BIG.
We were not ashamed to think of ourselves as great and glorious with another horizon always within reach! We got to the moon, for crying out loud.
Now it’s back to a chicken in every pot and a car in every garage (Hoover). We’re being conditioned to think small. What a shame. What a waste.
So there it is…you Obama, me Romney, but, as a gambler, I like your chances much better than mine.
As for my fellow conservatives, here’s the good news: I almost always lose at the track. I am a terrible handicapper.
